Human Recombinant MCP-2 (CCL8)

Monocyte chemoattractant protein 2
概要
Monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP) 2, or CCL8, belongs to the MCP subgroup of the CC family of chemokines, which includes MCP-1, MCP-2, MCP-3, MCP-4, and MCP-5. MCP-2 signals primarily through the CCR1 and CCR5 receptors to attract monocytes, activated NK cells, and CD4+ and CD8+ T cells (Romagnani). MCP-2 has also been shown to induce the release of histamine from basophils via the CCR2 receptor (Gangur & Oppenheim).

Data

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant MCP-2 (CCL8) was tested using CHO cells transfected with human CCR5. Calcium mobilization was measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of CCL8 where calcium mobilization is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the example above is less than 0.5 μg/mL. (B) 2 μg of Human Recombinant MCP-2 (CCL8) was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant MCP-2 (CCL8) has a predicted molecular mass of 8.9 kDa.
